Price The Roof
Before The Ladder
Comes Off The Truck

Shoot the roof from the driveway, say what the job is, and the estimate writes itself — squares counted, tear-off and install split out, the bin and the permit already on it. You read it, you send it, and the homeowner approves from their phone. The number is yours: your squares, your material, your margins.

How you price a roof with itOn the roof, in the driveway, before the ladder is back on the truck

On-site quoting

Live today

You're at the house, ladder still up

You're already up there or standing in the yard. Shoot what you'd shoot anyway, add the numbers only you can know, and the estimate writes itself before you pack up.

  • Photograph both slopes, the ridge, the valleys and the rake edge — the rake is what shows a second layer
  • Type or say the few things a photo can't tell it: pitch, storeys, access, deck condition
  • It counts squares, reads the shingle type and condition, and writes the line items
  • Tear-off and install come out as separate lines, with the bin and permit already on
  • You change what you want and text it to the homeowner from the driveway

Best for: the job you're standing on. Nothing is guessed that you can see with your own eyes, and nothing sends until you've read it.

Instant measure on your own website

In build — early access

The homeowner types their address on your site and has their roof measured on the spot — footprint, facets, pitch, squares — and the lead reaches you with the measurement already attached, so you call back quoting off real numbers. Whether a price goes out with it stays your call: measurement only, a range you approve first, or an instant range.

This one isn't built yet. We're taking a small group of roofers into early access to shape it around real jobs — if that's you, say so on the call and you'll help decide how much of a price goes out with it.

It reads a roof the way a roofer doesNot a generic model guessing at your trade

Squares and pitch

Counts area off the slopes and reads pitch from the photos or the overhead trace, so the waste factor sits on a real number.

Layers

Checks the rake edge and eave for a second or third layer — the difference between a tear-off and an overlay, and the difference in your bin.

Penetrations

Counts vents, pipe boots, skylights and chimneys, and prices the flashing that goes with each of them.

The things that get forgotten

Ice and water shield at eaves and valleys, drip edge, the disposal bin, the permit and the final inspection — on the estimate, every time.

Storm work, written the way an adjuster reads itHail and wind season shouldn't cost you your evenings

  • Damage described slope by slope, in the language a claim needs
  • Tear-off, underlayment, flashing and accessories itemised separately instead of buried in one number
  • Photos stay attached to the estimate, so the file is built as you go
  • Supplements are easier when the original scope was written down properly the first time
  • The homeowner gets a clean copy by text they can forward to their adjuster

One re-roof a year more than covers it. Most roofers get it back on the first job they quote from the driveway instead of three days later.

What roofers ask first

Is this replacing my EagleView or Hover reports?

No. Those measure a roof; this prices one. If you already pay for measurement reports, mode 1 turns those numbers into a priced, sendable estimate in your own pricing. Mode 2 is for the calls where ordering a report isn't worth it yet.

Can it really tell pitch from a photo?

It estimates it, and you correct it — pitch is one of the few things we ask you to confirm rather than assume. A wrong pitch throws off squares, so it's not a number to leave to a guess.

What stops it quoting a number I'd never charge?

Your price book. Per square, per bundle, tear-off rate, bin cost, minimum job — you load them once and every estimate comes out of them. It never invents a rate, and any line it estimated itself is labelled so you can check it.

Does the homeowner get a price without me?

Not unless you switch it on. Out of the box they get the measurement and you get the lead, because a number that lands under your real bid is worse than no number at all — you'd be arguing a homeowner down off a figure your own website gave them. If you do want a price going out, you can send a range across your shingle tiers with its assumptions printed underneath, or have it wait for your approval first. Three settings, and the safe one is the default.

What if it's a roof it can't read properly?

Then it says so instead of guessing. Bad imagery, heavy tree cover, a cut-up roof with a dozen facets, anything that reads like a repair rather than a re-roof — it tells the homeowner the roof needs eyes on it and offers them a time. You still get the lead. And if you've turned pricing on, anywhere it's unsure it leans high rather than low, because the cheap surprise is the one that costs you the job.

My crew isn't going to learn new software.

They take photos and hit send — that's the whole workflow on a phone. The office side is where the setup lives, and we do that with you during onboarding.

Do I have to switch everything over?

No. Estimating is one part of the system. The website, missed-call text back, reviews and invoicing are there when you want them and ignored when you don't.

The roof you quote today is the one you sell

The homeowner is getting three numbers. Yours should be the one that arrives before the other two trucks have left the street.
